The Bride of Frankenstein Cosplay

If I haven’t said it before, I’ll say it again.

I LOVE costuming.

Wearing costumes, making costumes…I don’t know what it is, but I love the feeling of making something come to life through your own hands from the book or screen that inspired you.

Last year, I made the Bride of Frankenstein, inspired by the classic 1935 film’s Elsa Lanchester depiction of the Monster’s bride. Although not perfect to the quality I wanted it (more flow-y, wider base, etc. etc.), it was a big enough hit for myself. Particularly the mastering of the hair.

Classic bride was not so much in this year, so it was a bit of a challenge finding a wig, which means I used my real hair instead. Thankfully, this video was a lot of help.

In the end, I think I was reasonably close. 🙂

If you could create a costume to a classic horror movie character, which would it be? (Personally, I’d love to make the Gilman for someone)

Multiple interests and resourceful optimism keeps this mama of two always at the ready for life's next adventure. Meet your hostess here.
