From my February Bedside
Technically, it's officially March, but I forgot February is short by two days. I originally planned to work on this email over the weekend and was planning to send it out until I actually looked at a calendar last Monday and realized it should have gone out last Sunday...
Y'all, February was a trial. I felt like I spent most of it either getting sick, being sick or recovering from being sick. I got put on bed rest for a whole week with the flu (100% do NOT recommend) AND was even prescribed meds for it. A first for me. I lost my voice, and when it finally came back, I sounded like an energy-lacking Donald Duck. To be honest, I'm still coughing up phlegm and I hate it, but for all intents and purposes, I am "better".
That sick week really set me back, not just financially, but creatively too. Never-the-less, your cobweb queen is on the mend and looking forward to some impromptu plans Erick and I decided to make for our anniversary. Additionally, I have been spinning my plans for Be Kind to Spiders Week and I cannot wait for those to surface. This will be my FIRST "behind the cobwebs" email! Just scroll down for the section of the same name if you want to know what webs I'm weaving. Don't want spoilers? Just stop scrolling through the email after my mood check. Behind the Cobwebs will be the final section of this email going forward.

As a final reminder, in my last email I mentioned that I will be weaning off posting on social media like Instagram come the end of this month. I am trying to keep up with anyone that I might loose touch with by not visiting regularly. If you have your own email newsletter or YouTube channel I can follow, please let me know! I do want to keep connected, but social media is not the community it used to be for me when I first began using it. Simply reply to this email or drop your contact info in my IG Story here. Let's actually keep in touch!

Life Adventures & Blog Posts February 2025
Sickness aside, I still managed to have a frightfully fabulous February. Influenza isn't stopping this ghoul! With my work life/current living accommodations with a big hovering question mark until June, I decided my family needs to have as many mini adventures as we can in anticipation of not being able to afford a big travel trip in the summer, like Midsummer Scream or Creep It Real. We'd love to make it happen, but just being realistic here.

February Highlight: Monterey Bay Aquarium Visit
Before coming down with the flu, I made the crazy decision to get my family memberships at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Erick and I talked about going so many times last year, but we didn't make it happen. Not this year!
Monterey is a little over a hour's drive from where we live and if we have to move after June, where we'll be staying temporarily will be about the same distance as we are now. We broke in our passes the second weekend of February and it was a big hit with Monster and Boo. The littles loved it ! My only complaint was that it was rather crowded, but I have realized I am becoming less and less crowd tolerant these days...
Regardless, we're very much looking forward to our next visit and are already planning to take advantage of the members only nights that happen once a month. Have you ever visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium? Fun fact! If you've ever seen "Finding Dory", the aquarium she is from is inspired by it.

February Highlight: Winchester Mystery House with Spooky Little Halloween
The weekend following my illness, I got to spend a spooktacular morning at the Winchester Mystery House with my favorite spooky queen, Spooky Little Halloween! I loved every moment Spooky turned a corner and exclaimed, "This is so beautiful.", "That's so gorgeous.", and "I want to live here". I knew I was with the right company immediately. Spooky kept apologizing for saying these things with each room, but it didn't bother me in the slightest because that is exactly how I feel.
I cannot wait to entertain Spooky at Winchester again someday. I feel like there was still so much to show her. Thank you for letting me be your personal tour guide!

Fun fact! Did you know you can check out more than just books at your local library? We were able to check out a handful of Nintendo Switch games (including my Library Hauntings pick!), but you can also check out things like state & county park passes, gardening tools and even request for files to be 3D printed. How awesome are our libraries, huh?

What I'm Weaving Behind the Cobwebs
I am in full swing for Be Kind to Spiders Week prep and I am over the moon about it. And Monster and Boo are helping me out this year! Sadly, my plan to celebrate a "New Year's Web" party has to be put off yet another year, but I'm going with the theme of Spinning Simply when it comes to my BKtSW posts this year. I'm sure the photo below doesn't give much insight, but it's going to be fun and I am so thrilled to share this little preview with you!

I've found a reasonably priced Victorian outfit on Amazon that should compliment Erick nicely. He's ordered a green waistcoat that he's planning to wear, so I was hoping to match his color palette with my look and this was such a blessing of a find! You can see it in the photo included here. (When it arrives, I'll be sure to give you all a sneak peek and review on how it fits).

I really wanted to make something myself, but looking at the time frame and all the logistics, there was just no way I would get it done to my own personal standard. I think this dress will look just fine on its' own, but I want customize it a tad bit more. You know those Victorians, they didn't embellish anything simply and I would like to add some fun details or frills or something. However, I'm drawing a bit of a blank. Anyone have any ideas or inspiration for me?
