The Gossamer Gossip

"Nice hopping..."

What filled your glass this month, Subscriber?
I swear we just started April, but here we are! This month was wild busy. I mean, I did publish a book, celebrate Be Kind to Spiders Week AND camp in the rainy rainy woods for my birthday, which put us through almost the middle of the month with just that.
On the job front, I'm still not 100% sold on my new job and have already done three interviews to find a replacement. Two of those interviews happened at a Montessori school that rekindled my love and passion for the philosophy. Fingers crossed that they find me a good fit!
I spent the rest of the month either physically crashing from the work commute or prepping for the market I'll be vending at THIS weekend. I'm so excited that my first in-person event to sell my book will be at the Winchester Mystery House! To celebrate Halfway to Halloween, Winchester is hosting both flashlight tours and a Halfway-to-Halloween market in the gardens. Both the market and garden tours will be free to guests over the next two weekends.
I'll be there on both May 2nd and 3rd in booth #46 in the Carriage House. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, swing by my booth and say you're with the candy corn crew. I'll give you a free sticker!
If you are interested in the rest of my random gossip, you'll have to keep scrolling. But before you continue...you didn't forget to pour your own glass of boos, did you? Let's raise it to an enriching April!

Life Occurrences & Creative Ventures— April 2026

I was horrible with taking photos in March outside of snapping pictures of my book! Although, I did take a TON of photos and video from the Celtic fair my family attended. I have attended this festival several times in my youth, so it felt like a lovely circle to bring my husband and children to enjoy it for the first time.

April Highlight: Happy 38th Birthday to Me!

I spent my birthday out in the woods. Which turned into a very rainy adventure that we had to cut short. It was a little more rain than anticipated and the littles were not happy campers. Literally. Still, it was a delightful time and it was so nice to be out in nature.
It has been a few years since we went camping with our little ones and I've been itching to get out into the wild. Nature was calling and I answered the call. Although we didn't see any webs or spiders, but an opilione, a cousin of the spider

Meanwhile as we sip along on the Sips & Spirits Podcast....

It seems I greatly underestimated the toll a new job would take on me. Episode 67 should have dropped on the 17th. However, although we did record it, I did not get around to editing due to prepping for my son's birthday party. Oops!
As such, episode 67 will drop on May 16th instead. Hopefully, going forward, we'll stay on track.

Older Goodies for my Gossips

I gain too much pleasure from loading these emails full of random toasts and teasers. However, I understand email newcomers may have missed out on something here or there. As such, there is a special page to explore, exclusive to my email subscribers. It is filled with all the goodies I have tucked away in emails since 2024, in addition to an email archive of past newsletters.

What I'm Weaving Behind the Cobwebs

booth set up idea for market
With the Halfway-to-Halloween market right around the market, I've been focusing on getting everything I might need together for that. This market was an unexpected, but pleasant surprise to be participating in. I applied to vend my book thinking it would be a quick rejection, but I was pleasantly surprised receiving the email excited that I had something for the families.
new candy corn crew stickers
It has been quite a while since I vended at a market and they were somewhat underwhelming results. I am hopeful, but trying not to be too much so. Still, it is exciting to be showing off my book to strangers in person. Since it is a Halloween-themed event, my setup is candy corn coded and I made some new Candy Corn Crew stickers to celebrate that. If you do happen to visiting San Jose this weekend, I would love for you to swing by and say hello. I'll be in booth #46 in the carriage house. As I mentioned earlier, if swing by my booth and say you're with the candy corn crew, I'll have a free sticker waiting for you!
Outside of that, getting into the work routine has been super draining and I just haven't had it in me to work on any new projects. Plenty of ideas are a-bubbling though! I hope I manage the time to make them happen.
