Cancer is the Goldenrod Crab Spider
Without a doubt, Cancer is the symbol of sensitivity and deep emotion. There is always a struggle to trust others, but once this sign allows that faith to build, they are unyielding in their loyalty and eager to be relied upon. Cancer tends to be a worrywart and will spend more time mentally sulking instead of directly facing the cause of their distresses. The imagination and genius that can get them lost in their thoughts can be reversed; making this sign extremely successful in anything they choose to pursue. Cancer can be found extremely affectionate in one moment then turn into a crab with little notice. They find balance vital in their lives; establishing a set routine in their day-to-day and doing all they can to keep it that way.
A Little About
△ Misumena Vatia △
Not to be confused with the spider crab (which is not actually an arachnid of any kind), this garden-variety spider can be found just about anywhere in the world. Spiders in the Thomisidae family are very unique hunters; the ability to scuttle sideways and backwards earns them their popular nickname of crab spider. You can find this spider sitting around on flowers and fruits, waiting to ambush their prey with their larger powerful front legs.
Fact References: Wikipedia
The fact that this spider’s real life appearance imitates the look and movements of a crab made it an obvious selection for Cancer. The Thomisidae’s special talents and patience of an ambush predator shows off this spider’s sensitivity to it’s environment and powerful force.
