Showers of April Chaos
I am really dropping the ball here when ti comes to releasing newsletters on the final Sunday of the month! At least it's a Websday and still April! (Albeit, the final day of the month...how did we get here already?!) I am still in disbelieve that April is over already. Why does it feel like each month of 2025 gets more and more chaotic?

March wrapped up in a flurry riding on the high from our anniversary fun at Winchester while I kept plugging away in preparation for Be Kind to Spiders Week a week later. I'm pretty proud of the simple fun I spun this year. I cannot decide which post I love best as I'm equally in love with the end results of each project I tried. Plus, Ghoul at Heart coming in with a spiderling cake recipe was a real treat. Did any of these posts become a new Be Kind to Spiders Week favorite?

The wrapping up of some major work projects and my "Let's move the whole house around" spring cleaning mentality took up the rest of my free time. In September last year, we tried letting Little Monster and Lil' Boo have their own rooms, which eliminated our guest room. However, they were not exactly ready for this. Their rooms were a constant danger zone we couldn't even walk through. As such, while they spent spring break with their nana, Erick and I moved both of their beds and dressers into the smallest room, moved the pullout couch back upstairs to the empty bedroom, and brought all their toys down to the empty room next to the library. I'm very pleased with the progress so far and it's nice having a spare room for overnight guests again. The new guest room will double duty as a project room. However, I still need to move all my machines and our 3D printer into the room as well. Plans are already forming for this coming weekend with how to best conquer what's left.

We also hosted Easter at our place, which we used as an excuse to do some much needed deep cleaning. As I type this, I'm realizing that I was bit by the spring cleaning bug rather hard this month! There's still a lot to do, but I am most looking forward to our new bed. We're FINALLY getting a real bedframe and upgrading the size to a king. Erick and I both have not been getting the best sleep because the littles are joining us early on in the night in our Queen size bed. You never realized how small a queen is until you have two children trying to snuggle up with you too.

Life Adventures & Blog Posts April 2025
Putting all the cleaning and house rearranging aside, I did a lot of blog posting this month thanks to Be Kind to Spiders Week. My physical outings were on the lighter side this month, but I'm pretty happy about the blog posting turnout. I had also wanted to share another centennial speaker series, but I didn't get around to it. Here's hoping I can circle back to it and another in May!

Aside from the blogging, both myself and Lil' Boo celebrated our birthdays. My baby boy is now 5 years old! He has grown too much, but thankfully, not out of mommy cuddling time. TT-TT We did also manage to sneak in a day at the aquarium again, which was a delightful escape.

What are your thoughts on this "mood check" bit? I'm curious to know if you even have an interest in what is influencing me each month, but I'm debating on replacing this with things I know my spooky pals are working on. Quite a few of my friends are releasing some pretty awesome things in the summer and fall that I think you're going to love, but I wanted to see if anyone actually like seeing this section so figure out if I need to restructure my newsletter layout a little. Please be honest. I genuinely want to hear your opinion!

What I'm Weaving Behind the Cobwebs

I loved the idea I had behind decorating my fireplace mantle for a spidery spring and the end results left me very happy. I can't believe this vision came to life with the vibes I was hoping to capture.

I was so happy over it that I even put together an ambiance video to memorialize it! It's the first time I tried making something like this and has been on my "want to make" list for a while. Thus, it was a great trial run, but I'm already scheming up ways to improve it.
However, I know a lot of people tend to like the actual decorating bit of setting up a scene too. I decided to share an unlisted bonus video just for you, my email subscribers, of my decorating process for the spidery spring mantle. Enjoy!

My next behind-the scenes project has me itching to run back to the halls of Winchester. It would be SO cool if I could get Winchester to let me snap some photos of my project inside, but that's very unlikely. Still, no one said I couldn't use my project as an excuse to take another tour. XP Anyways, you might not see much about this project until early October as it is a contribution piece to a publication. I am so excited I get to participate in it again and to share all the fine tuning I went through once it's officially released. Any guesses to what it could be?

Next month will be very Winchester-focused. We'll be attending their Halfway to Halloween celebrations over Mother's Day weekend AND I just heard that they're hosting a stained glass class at the end of the month. I should just be giving them my paychecks directly at this point. XD

Outside of the unspoken contribution project and all the cleaning, I'm also working on getting the Sips & Spirits' website up to date. This has been on my to-dos for quite some time and since we changed our podcast host back in January, I'm needing to fix some broken links.

You can expect a new color scheme, missing cocktail recipes to surface and MAYBE, finally, the 12 weeks of winter grog videos to get uploaded to our YouTube channel. I'm guessing this will more than likely be a two-month endeavor (I have an end-of-May deadline for the other project), so I'm trying not to be too ambitious.

Erick and I talked about some super fun big plans for jumping back into the podcast, but they won't come to fruition until December. Still, I am SO excited over them and cannot wait to get a jump on the bits for that. Fingers crossed I finally finish my cocktail mixology course too. I just want it done. Hahaha...
