Midsummer Scream 2025 Countdown

It’s time to let the black cat out of the bag; I am hosting a countdown challenge to celebrate attending Midsummer Scream 2025 this month!

You read that right! I announced to my newsletter subscribers earlier in the week, so now it’s your turn. I am excited to share I will be attending Midsummer Scream 2025 after missing last year. It is an honor to return with an unexpected press badge around my neck. I hope to die into all my treats and tricks as an attendee with two little monsters in each claw.

I did an in-depth post two years ago about why I think Midsummer Scream is worth the hype. If there’s something I didn’t cover in my old post, feel free to ask. Consequently, if you’ve been waiting to decide if you should attend this year, let this be your sign!

In case you aren’t familiar, Midsummer Scream is a Halloween and Horror convention in Long Beach, California. Markedly, it is THE Summerween party that kicks off the Halloween season. There is always a little something for everyone. As a matter of fact, it is one of the few Halloween conventions I know of that are family-friendly! This year marks it’s 8th year and my 6th year attending it. One could say I’m quite the pro when I go.

As such, I feel very fortunate that I continue to qualify for a press badge for a 3rd year. My goal is to cover the convention from the perspective of a parent. I feel like this angle is quite underrepresented and not nearly enough people share this side of the event. A true irony considering I see LOADS of families attend each year. If you already have Midsummer Scream in your cards, be sure to shout “boo!” if you spot me! I’ll be bringing along both Sips & Spirits goodies as well as old Candy Corn Crew treats. I’ll be sure to pack a little bit of everything I still have!

Countdown with a Creativity Challenge

Of course I cannot contain my excitement by just talking about attending. I had to pull together a creativity challenge to countdown the days.

I haven’t fully decided yet, but I have two ways I’m thinking of approaching this challenge. One ways is to count down to Midsummer Scream using the prompts. However, as I worked on this post, I had the thought of treating my challenge like a scavenger hunt. 13 prompts to look for as I wander the convention center concourse sounds rather fun!
