Found throughout Eastern North and Central Americas, this interesting spider has a very celestial species name which literally means “Little Athena”. Arrow-shaped spiders weave webs very similar to the zigzag spider. The females are brightly colored and grow large spins at the ends of her abdomen, whereas the males remain spineless and colored black with a little white along his edges.

Sometimes the spider choice is all in the name. And the Micrathena Sagitta just begged to be the right fit. And a spider named for the archer goddess herself was a choice directly from the stars. This spider aims true to her desires like a true Sagittarius.
