You met the Fluffy Spider in 2022, but now it’s time to get caught in her tangled web of a cocktail! This boudoir-inspired libation is full of allure and sexiness. All of this melds together with the help of the stunning Sweet Gwendoline French Gin which perfectly captures those vibes.

Garnish this beauty with a candied lemon wheel for the imagery of a spider’s web and you’re ready for this tastebud trap. You’ll be wrapped in silky flavors of a refreshing garden on the palette and nose, unsure of what the flavors might be exactly.

The Tangled Web Cocktail

Servings: 1 cocktail

Equipment

Jigger
Cocktail shaker
Coupe / Martini glass

Ingredients

2 oz Sweet Gwendoline French Gin
¾ oz lemon juiced ~½ lemon
½ oz blood orange simple syrup
¼ oz Grand Marnier
1 candied lemon wheel for garnish

Instructions

Fill cocktail shaker with ice
Add gin, lemon juice, blood orange syrup and grand marnier to cocktail shaker
Shake vigorously
Strain into coupe glass
Cut notch into lemon wheel then use to garnish on rim of glass

To make candied lemon

Slice 1 lemon into thin wheels. Add equal parts water and sugar to saucepan over high heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon wheels to pan. Simmer on medium-low heat for 10 minutes. Flip the wheels then simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Let cool overnight.

The stunning Penny Snark put Sweet Gwendoline on my radar. I’ve been obsessed. It’s unique flavors are on a level that makes it challenging to compare with other gins. Sweet Gwendoline felt like the perfect spirit to use when implying a tangled web. The muses of this gin were the creators of the fashion fetish magazine “BIZARRE” which made the right connections in my mind.
