Macabre Made Me: 30 Years of The Halloween Tree
With The Halloween Tree animation celebrating 30 years since its release on October 2nd in 1993, my look takes its influence from the intriguing character Carapace Clavicle Moundshroud.
30 Years of The Halloween Tree
In a few words, “The Halloween Tree” follows the adventures of a handful of children who set off on a journey through time to understand the mysteries of Halloween while trying to also save their friend. Regardless of the difference between the 1993 animated feature and the book written by Ray Bradbury, fans of both hold “The Halloween Tree” spirit deeply in their hearts and allow it to conjure the childish wonder it brings with every October.

This skirt/vest/cape combo had been in my mind since Miss Candyfloss released the skirt and vest last Autumn. As can be seen, I found this set to be a perfect combo for a Moundshroud look. Moreover, the cape was made by me, using the colors of the vest color and lining to compliment the ensemble.
Regrettably, I feel that the photos above do not do the look justice. In addition to that, I was not in the right mood for taking these photos. For this reason, my hope is that in the future I can take this look somewhere to take some pics that would do Mr. Moundshroud proud. Until then, these are what I have on hand and they hopefully convey what I was trying to achieve, even if only a little.
Why Macabre Made Me?
This year, it came to my attention that many films I adore were celebrating milestones. By comparison, this felt serendipitous to my own celebration of 35 years. In light of this, I decided to pull together an outfit ensemble that took influence from these films. In like fashion, did you check out my Practical Magic inspired look and cocktail yet?
