Original Halloween Cards

One of the things that brought me a lot of joy over a five year span was designing and creating my own original Halloween cards. These cards featured my Candy Corn Crew spiderlings up to assorted shenanigans. Most usually involving a pumpkin and their black cat companion, Mellowcreme.

31 Ways to Cheers: Ghost #2 – Original Halloween Cards

My final year of creating original Halloween cards was a crazy ambitious project. I die-cut 60 window frames and 30 windows into cards by hand (before I had a Cricut). Then I drew 30 card designs by hand and glued those into the inside of each card. Following that, I glued the window frames to either side of the window I cut out of each card. Finally, each of the 30 people who signed up for my card exchange received a 100% original hand-made card. It was a true labor of love. I might have done things just a little different, but I was quite proud of it all the same. One day, I hope I can make a special 31 card to keep just for me to commemorate the experience.

Unfortunately, you cannot get your hands on these original cards. Fortunately, I did carefully photograph each one with both the window and inside. When you participate in the Halloween Card Caper, you can “open” them to see the scene beyond the window. Sharp eyes will find a secret message hidden amongst them. Check out each card by clicking the button below!

Why should you want to solve the caper? I have a handful of cards from my first four year still around. If you email me the message hidden amongst the cards along with your mailing address, then I’ll send out one of my extra cards at random.

It is an honor to be amongst my fellow crypt keepers once more and I am so excited to crash their own countdown celebrations as the month progresses.
