Be Kind to Spiders Week 2025: Spinning Simply
Be Kind to Spiders Week has arrived and the theme I’m embracing to celebrate this arachnid-focused week is spinning simply. I have been honoring Be Kind to Spiders Week since 2019. Each year becomes even more fun to prepare yet it often becomes more elaborate too. I wanted to go as equally big this year until I was hit with a different vibe.
This full week of eight-legged fun was always intended to help change minds about these often wrongfully feared creatures. However, when you get a creative involved, the ideas can go a bit off the rails. I was definitely getting off the rails with plans. Eventually, it shifted into hosting a mock party. The thought was to prepare a new years web hinted at in my Gossamer Gossips. I was determined to make this a reality with Ghoul at Heart in charge of the menu.
And then…life decided to keep knocking. Mental exhaustion from family business drama and tight finances due to being sick with the flu hit me hard. Once mid-February rolled around, I started realizing my grand plans could not pan out like I wanted. So the question arose. How could I make a full week of posts for Be Kind to Spiders Week without the time or finances? Suddenly, the phrase “spinning simply” started nagging at my brain. It got me thinking about my own shift with Halloween consumerism the past couple years. I could apply the same thoughts to this week by creating simple projects and vibe settings. Thus, spinning simply as a theme was born!
Spinning Simply for Be Kind to Spiders Week 2025

I am quite excited by the simple approach I’m bringing you this year. I will be reconnecting with my appreciation of spiders in a spring aesthetic. The goal was that each simply spun project I share introduces me to a new skill. The best part? Most can be done with a dollar tree budget in hopes that you can also give them a try!

As for today? Last night, we watched “Sting” and I’m hoping we can squeeze in “Arachnophobia” some time this afternoon. If lounging on your couch watching spider flicks doesn’t count as spinning simply, mark me as off to a bad start.
What ideas do you have for spinning simply this week in celebration of Be Kind to Spiders Week?
