Notes

The aim of this cocktail was to make it into a punch bowl. The instructional video shows how to make as a single serving, but the instructions shown here are to make a large-batch format.

Harvest moons seem to hold this magical spell, don’t they? There’s just something to me about when they roll around that it really feels like Autumn is here, even though it’s not technically for another ten days.

My inspiration for this cocktail was (obviously) all the fall flavors, but most especially Apple. I love nearly everything apple flavored, so this was the direction I decided to take quite early on. I also wanted to try my hand at making a large batch cocktail and creating one for the Harvest Moon felt like the perfect time. Can’t you just imagine sipping on this honied elixir under the moon around a bonfire with fellow selenophiles?

Honey for the Harvest Moon?

I’m not a huge caramel fan. Even though there are so many who throw out caramel as the first sweet flavor to pair with apple, I wanted something different. You may recall my passion for honey in the Honey Moon Cocktail and Sips & Spirits’ Pukwudgie Cocktail. I’m a bit of a fan. When thinking of what might compliment the apple and spice flavors, I decided to give it a shot. I think it’s a very fun and unique pairing that brings a different yet familiar flavor.
