Creep It Real OC 2024
After knowing we would not be able to attend Midsummer Scream for 2024, we decided to treat ourselves to an escape at Creep It Real OC. What a treat it was!
But what is Creep It Real OC? To summarize briefly, it is an outdoor festival of Halloween community creatives, artists and performers utilizing the beautiful Orange County Heritage Square in Santa Ana. Each year boasts a new theme. For 2024, the theme was “Creep It Real NOSTALGIC”.

Keeping the theme in mind, I decided it would be the perfect event to premier my Mistress of the Bust. It is always a ball for me to don Elvira. As such, this was the perfect look to wear around as it turned out to be perfect for walking in all the dirt around the property. Finally, on Sunday, I went for comfy in shorts and my Sips & Spirits t-shirt. Although, I didn’t really take a full photo of the look. Oops!
Creep It Real OC 2024
In a nutshell, I loved the laid-back atmosphere of this festival. I wouldn’t really say you can compare it to Midsummer Scream as it’s a completely different beast. However, it is something you can definitely consider in its place if you are looking for something much more casual and relaxed. Though the biggest highlight of the event is the shopping, there are other things to explore. Such as live music performances, guest presentations and photo ops galore. Comparatively, my favorite photo op would have to be the jumbo-sized boo buckets. However, as a ghost-busting mistress, I was thrilled to see an Ecto-1 for posing with.
Instead of haunts, there is a gorgeous walkthrough of one of the Victorian houses, which fueled my Halloween nostalgia vibes. Halfway through, they had “Treehouse of Terror” and “The Halloween Tree” scripts in addition to a miniature Halloween Tree and assorted props from spooky shows like “Eerie, Indiana” and “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”.
All in all, I was extremely pleased to attend and would certainly put this on my list for the future. Maybe one year I’ll even make it to Creep It Real Festive! My only observation is that I do feel this even can be done in one day, so don’t feel like you need to go on both days. I think this would only be something you opt in on if you wanted to catch all of their guest presentations that happen each day (typically only one or two).
